Welcomes & check-ins

Please post comments below to welcome new members, say hello to old friends, check in and let everyone know you are back ~ even if only to visit. Got questions? Use comments for those too.
New blog members start by following and commenting on posts to say hello, introduce themselves, ask questions, etc. After you've had a chance to settle in, get to know everyone and have decided you might want to "stick around" for a while, we'll invite you to become a contributor. That means you can write and post directly to the blog as well as commenting.

Here's a welcome to new blog member Junai. She's from Japan and will, I hope, tell us more about herself and what she expects from Blogging English. She's bound to have questions too.

Here are few links to older posts that might be helpful:
PS: unless your messages and questions need to be private and confidential, please use the blog to communicate with us

hi! How are you? Please tell me how to write comment in the blog. I tried several times but I couldn't, so I wrote my introduction at my blog.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Ms. Vanessa,

    How are you?

Colours do play an important part in our life but in my opinion the knowledge that the site gives is more important. I like the colour.
    Thanks for caring about us.

    Thanks,
    Bye, Rajeev B

  3. @Junko ~ Posting comments is very easy. This link explains and shows how to post comments. I adjusted the settings to make sure readers and not just contributors can post comments.

After you are more familiar with procedures and have been participating by posting comments, I will promote you to "contributor." In the meantime, I will set up threads for introductions, questions and requests.

  4. @Rajeev ~ Thank you. Actually research shows that color affects readability and mood. Mood influences how receptive we are to learning.

I didn't about the symbolism of color but the colors we chose have meaning. I can't decide whether the background color is mauve or ivory pink. Mauve represents endurance, cooperation, trust, and self-confidence. Ivory pink represents friendship. Both fit what I have in mind.

I've never been one for redecorating at home, but like to redecorate pages.

I don't know how many of the invited from the two google groups will join us as they were not very active, but I'll keep the door open and perhaps adjust application requirements.

    How have you been?

  6. Welcome to Blogging English. We've been slow for a while (mostly my fault I admit), but I hope we will become more active very soon.

19 years old and 6 years old ~ that's quite a spread in age! Are you helping your daughter learn English? We should send you some learning links for children. Adults can use them too. They are almost always more fun too.

  8. Here's English for Children at Rong Chang's English as Second Language web site, which is one of the oldest and most respected ESL sites on the internet.

And who wouldn't love Grammar Gorilla and Grammar Rock no matter what their age?

Maybe Sadamu would be like to share sites like these with his grand-daughter. There is a saying that the best way to learn something is to teach it to someone else.

Who else has children or grandchildren they would like to help learn English? Or a friend?
